Hebrews 5:5 (NIV)
In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father.”
This scripture portrays how God selects (calls) people to his service. This call defines our ministry to the world. It is honorable to be called by God and to serve not just God but mankind. Our service to God in whatever way we feel obliged, will always be built upon the call to reach the ends of the world with the good news of Jesus. God called Jesus His son and mandated him with the priesthood for His Glory. Christ died for you and secured a path for you to have purpose by serving God through your gifts, compassion and leadership. Your acts of service no matter how small or unnoticeable, works to the fulfillment of God’s ultimate plan. Whether through your giving of money, time, commitment or service you matter a great deal in the vineyard of the divine.
Let me find meaning in my service to you O Lord, and grant me strength in pursuing what is Holy and true. In Jesus’ name I pray..
