“Don’t be afraid, people of Jerusalem. Look, your King is coming, riding on a donkey’s colt.”
The irony of this prophecy was that Jesus was on his way to be declared a criminal and killed by crucifixion but was hailed as king. The ride into Jerusalem was a divine ride not unto a throne as king of the Jews but into the hearts of many more. The assurance to the people of Jerusalem was not to be afraid because the savior and deliverer had finally come. The truth is that, yes our savior and King backed by the host of heaven was about to be enthroned as king of our lives capable of coming through victoriously in all situations. When we let Christ dwell within us, he enhances our abilities and brings transformations lasting eternally. With Easter round the corner, let this week bring somber reflections and be assured of his love for you and your salvation.
I sing Hosanna to your name O Lord and I welcome you to be king in my heart. Thank you for the cross and the power of your deliverance. In Jesus’ name I Pray.
