John 3:27
John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
WORD:
John the Baptist stood there and watched Jesus “outshine” him in the very river he was revered and known. He was being coerced to react but he responded in the most sublime tones. God had worked on John so he perfectly understood his call and purpose and was comfortable being the one dropping off so Jesus could rise. God is the provider of everything in our lives including our friends, even family, material and immaterial things. We would understand life better if we knew who we were and what he called us to do. Be content and consistent in what he’s called you to do and it shall be more than well with you.
PRAYER:
Dear God, grant me the discipline to stay true to my call and to have the fortitude and resilience to subdue my pride to your will, celebrate others along the way. In Jesus’ name.
