Proverbs 10:31 (NIV)
The mouth of the godly person gives wise advice, but the tongue that deceives will be cut off.
WORD:
Another great scripture dealing with our mouth. The mouth and tongue are vital parts of the body and also tools that can be used for good as well as deceit. Like any tool (chisel, hammer, knife) the difference is “who” has the tool and “what” they intend to do with it. Isaiah calls it “the fruit of the lips”. If you love God and are godly, you will bless people and give them wise counsel to lift them up and bring them towards God for him to help them. Self-check your words and let this scripture be your scale of measure to test your level of godliness. May God fill your life with godly men and women who will help you rise and trust the master.
PRAYER:
I want to know you more O Lord. Help me subdue my mouth and tongue so I can be wise in my words and glorify you in heaven. Grant me wisdom to know what to say at all times. In Jesus’ Name.
