Proverbs 14:21 (NIV)
It is a sin to belittle one’s neighbor; blessed are those who help the poor.
WORD:
Jesus spent a lot of time tackling oppressive and discriminatory practices so we can all gain access to the promises of his father. There is an intrinsic part of our being (Flesh) which drives us to create social structures and classes. You are your neighbors' keeper and were once poor and lost yourself but for the grace of God. You would be hypocritical if you engaged in those same practices for which Christ brought redemption. Everyone needs help in one way or the other and God positions us to be a blessing so we can also receive his grace. Please make a difference.
PRAYER:
Open our eyes to discern those we are led to help and have compassion for. Forgive us for all the moments we have ignored to help our neighbors, brothers and friends. In Jesus’ name I pray.
