Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
WORD:
Without the Holy Spirits’ involvement in the life of the Christian, worship and obedience becomes an uphill battle. Our sense of spiritual direction and pathways are led by the Spirit. Temptations mostly stem from the things we hear, see and perceive. There’s a weakness to our flesh and as we pray, we must make a conscious effort to physically remove ourselves from situations which we know pull us down continuously. Prayer is an enabler and would help us receive not just grace but strength to flee and avoid temptation and protect our hearts, emotions and thoughts.
PRAYER:
Guide and help us muster knowledge O Lord, as we pray so we can cultivate self control to stand against the things that ensnare us. Deliver us from all evil. In Jesus’ Name.
