John 11:40 (NIV)
Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”
WORD:
This was more of a rebuke than a question directed at Martha who didn’t think Jesus was powerful enough to bring Lazarus back to life, after Jesus had asked the stone covering the tomb to be rolled away. This was crucially important because Jesus needed Martha’s faith to raise her brother. Believing is one of the cardinal requirements, serving as a catalyst to our receiving from God. It propels our faith in everything we hope for including salvation. We are called “Believers” because we believe in the true word of God and in His son as capable to lead us into God’s eternal kingdom. For all the promises of God for your life, you will have to believe that God isn’t only capable, but will see to the accomplishment of His word. Don’t let doubt and fear rob you of his wonderful promises.
PRAYER:
I affirm today O Lord. I believe in your saving power to resurrect anything dead and broken in my life. I believe also in your righteousness as having the grace to assure me of eternal salvation.
