Psalm 149:6-9 (NIV)
May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, to carry out the sentence written against them—this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the Lord.
WORD:
The Emmys, Oscars, employee awards or any type of award, are a recognition of some type of an achievement. If you’ve ever received any award, it’s a good feeling. Praise is the equivalent of these in our service to God. The grateful heart will always praise God. When we praise God for his doings, we recognize his efforts and award him for his wondrous deeds. This scripture urges that his praise be always in our mouths as we sharpen the sword of the spirit in our hands. If you need more of or from God, praise him with your lips. This is the glory (revelation) of all that are faithful. Praise is your eternal weapon. The more you praise with your lips, it’s difficult to curse with the same lips. It’s a win-win for the faithful.
PRAYER:
I will praise you Oh Lord, I bow before your presence and my heart is joyful for all your wondrous deeds towards me. Your love is eternal.
