John 15:1-2 (NIV)
‘’I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does dear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
WORD:
So my mom had a little okra and pepper garden when I was growing up and during the time of harvest, we knew which plants were going to give us the most yields. Jesus is telling us here that God expects that we will bud, grow and mature to a fruit bearing stage where we become glorious and achieve his will. If we become lukewarm and have nothing to show, we’ll be cut off from our source of life. One of my greatest fears is to become irrelevant in God’s kingdom. O what value is salt if it’s lost the taste factor? Abide with him, stay in his will, be pruned and remain relevant.
PRAYER:
O Lord help us to become true branches so we can live a harvest filled life, bearing worthy fruits in and out of season. In Jesus name I pray
